Volunteer at SGP

enviroleaders-and-master-gardeners

Volunteers play a vital role at the Garden Park. Become a regular volunteer and grow your gardening knowledge while meeting some wonderful people!

In addition to general help in the garden, we are also looking for volunteers for the following areas:

Chicken Team: Tasks may include letting our chickens out in the morning or wrangling them for the evening, feeding and filling water stations, collecting eggs, cleaning the coop, hanging out with them.

Flower Team: Help us maintain our cutting garden and insectaries! Tasks include sowing seeds, record-keeping, transplanting, preparing fields, deadheading, mulching, and weeding.

Harvest Market: Our market generally operates from April through the month of October and sometimes into November. Team members help with the harvest on the morning of the market, help prep the table, and take turns running the market. It’s a great way to meet people in the community!

Native Plant Nursery: Help our Restoration Technicians and get hands-on experience propagating and growing your knowledge about Sonoma Valley’s native plants and grasses.

Tree Pruning: Are you interested in gaining hands-on knowledge on tree pruning? We’d love help pruning the various fruit trees and shrubs at the Park. The majority of these tasks occur during December and January.

Drop-in volunteers are welcome (all new volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation before dropping-in)!
