Come Join Our Hydrosol Distillation Workshop at Sonoma Garden Park!
On Saturday, July 14, Sonoma Garden Park welcomes expert herbalist Abi Huff, who will share her knowledge of the ancient art of hydrosol and essential oil distillation. Sonoma Valley residents are invited to join us for this rare opportunity to learn about hydrosol distillation – the formation of aromatic waters using a time-honored distillation process.
During this day-long, hands-on workshop, participants will learn about the medicinal uses of hydrosols and essential oils and take part in the distillation process. Everyone will go home with hydrosols and essential oils – along with an in-depth understanding of how they are made, and the joy of sharing an incredible day in Sonoma Garden Park.
Abi Huff grew up in Southern California but left at age 17 for Northern California. She worked for the California Conservation Corps in Humboldt County, then traveled the world before settling in Sonoma Valley with her family. She is proprietor of The Stinging Nettle Apothecary, located on Highway 12 in the Springs, and considers herself a “folk, community and clinical herbalist.”
The Hydrosol Distillation Workshop is Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $100 each, and participants are advised to bring plants to use in the distillation process. To purchase tickets, go to hydrosoldistill.brownpapertickets.com.
